We’re thrilled to share some exciting news—Clifford House Fostering has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted! This incredible achievement reflects the dedication, passion, and hard work of our entire team and our amazing foster families across the Midlands.
A Huge Milestone for Clifford House
During our most recent inspection, Ofsted praised how we celebrate children’s achievements and how well we integrate foster children with birth children in our families. We’ve grown from a ‘Good’ rating in 2022 to ‘Outstanding,’ and we couldn’t be prouder.
At Clifford House, we focus on therapeutic training and carefully matching children with the right foster families, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported. Ofsted highlighted how our foster families provide long-term, loving homes, with many children living in the same family for over two years. This stability gives children a sense of belonging and the confidence to dream big.
One wonderful example from the report was a foster child who, inspired by their foster family’s three adult children (all teachers), now aspires to become a maths teacher. This just goes to show the incredible impact a nurturing environment can have on a child’s future.
Ofsted also recognised our commitment to supporting our foster families every step of the way. One of our foster parents shared how their supervising social worker went above and beyond, taking calls at all hours, visiting them in hospital, and offering unwavering support.
We truly believe that fostering is a partnership, and we’re here to ensure every foster family has the guidance, training, and encouragement they need to provide the best possible care.
The Need for More Foster Families
Right now, Clifford House is supporting 53 children across 39 foster households. But with the number of children in care continuing to rise—over 83,000 across the UK and nearly 12,000 in the West Midlands alone—there is an urgent need for more foster families to step forward.
Lesley Greenfield, Registered Manager, said: “Children in care often come from circumstances most of us couldn’t begin to imagine. Seeing them grow and thrive in loving families is an absolute privilege. I hope people reading our Ofsted feedback feel inspired to find out more about fostering because we desperately need more families to transform children’s lives.”
