We are pleased to announce that we have just received a ‘Good’ Ofsted report for the care it provides to vulnerable children
We were inspected in February 2022 for the first time since 2017 as a result of the pandemic and our registered manager, staff team and foster parents received some lovely feedback.
The report stated that the ‘Children make great progress from their starting points because of the care they receive’.
One child told the inspectors: ‘I am happy living with my carers and enjoy doing activities together as a family’.
Lesley Greenfield, our Registered Manager, said: “I am so proud of the work that all of our foster parents put in to ensure that children who need love and stability are provided with the homes they need in their local area.
“Having our work reflected in our most recent Ofsted report rating is truly amazing, and means that we can continue working hard to help vulnerable young children across the area.”
The report also stated that the ‘registered manager is passionate, highly committed and has worked hard to create the right environment for staff to work effectively’.
Lesley Greenfield said: “We have good retention at our foster agency which provides excellent stability for our looked after children, as well as a great work place for our foster parents.
“Our whole team is committed, hardworking and has an entirely child-focused ethos. All of our foster parents really are a credit to Clifford House Fostering.”
The agency is well-managed, and supervising social workers manage small caseloads meaning that foster parents can be appropriately supported. Ofsted described the existing staff members as ‘suitably qualified, experienced and highly dedicated’.
Nancy Gill has been fostering for more than 20 years and is a foster parent with Clifford House. She said: “Fostering is such an amazing career. You can give these children your strength and values. It’s so rewarding to see them flourish.
“If you’re interested in becoming a foster parent, as long as you’re family orientated, kind, considerate and able to show someone that they’re safe, you’ll do a good job.”
